About Mrs. Brandenburg
I love teaching third grade at Forest Trail and this is my 20th year of doing just that! Third graders are my specialty! I am a 24 year resident of Lost Creek, so I have taught MANY of my neighbors. I have a wonderful husband of almost 36 years and three great children who all attended Forest Trail, West Ridge, and Westlake High School. My oldest son, Ben, graduated from Texas Tech with his MBA and is married and living in Richardson. He is a banker like his dad and his wife, Joanna, was a fantastic third grade teacher but is taking some years off to be home with our two precious grandchildren, Harper (5) and Ford (18 months.) My son, Reed, received his doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014 and is currently living and treating patients in Denver. He and his wife Amy, who works in business development for a very large corporation, went to Baylor. My daughter, Ashlyn, graduated from Texas A&M in 2016 and works as Customer Relations Specialist for Westlake-based Nulo Pet Food. She is engaged to Miles and is getting married in December.
One of the great blessings of living in the neighborhood in which I teach is seeing my present and former students around the community, and maintaining those relationships outside of school. I have many wonderful friends in this community and those include parents of former students. I believe that cultivating relationships with my students and their families is one of the most important ways I can help them grow. Success in academics happens within the context of a relationship in a caring, nurturing, and FUN environment.
We are going to have one GREAT year together! I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you!
